About us
Evansville Common Ground is a local activist collective rooted in connection, education, and action.
We believe that resistance takes many forms — and ours begins with community.
In a time when division feels louder than understanding, we’re building spaces where people can meet in the middle, share ideas, and work toward solutions that serve everyone. Our mission is to strengthen Evansville from the inside out: by helping neighbors rely on one another, learn together, and take informed action on the issues that affect our daily lives.
We’re not aligned with any political party or ideology. We’re aligned with people.
At Evansville Common Ground, everyone has a seat at the table. We welcome all who want to see their community thrive and are ready to break down systems that no longer serve us — and build new ones that do.
All of our gatherings, protests, and actions are non-violent and rooted in respect. We believe change is most powerful when it’s peaceful, inclusive, and grounded in understanding.
Our Pillars
-
We promote self-sufficiency and interdependence through gatherings, local initiatives, and hands-on projects. From gardening to resource guides and peaceful protests, we focus on strengthening the connections that keep our community resilient.
-
Every month, we host open forums and educational talks led by professors, policy experts, and community leaders. These conversations are safe spaces to learn, listen, and grow — because understanding is the foundation of progress.
-
We believe in turning awareness into action. Our policy pillar focuses on helping residents understand how local legislation impacts their daily lives, empowering them to engage with civic systems and advocate for change.
